Trailer Park's Scott Ivers Tapped as Expert by Apple for Launch of New Final Cut Pro X
July 11, 2011
Final Cut Pro 7 met an untimely end recently when it was pulled off the market at its peak by Apple and replaced with Final Cut Pro X. Trailer Park editor Scott Ivers was tapped to work with Apple early this year when the new software was in Beta and later was one of the industry experts who helped announce its launch at the 10th Annual FCPUG (Final Cut Pro User Group) SuperMeet in Las Vegas. The $299 app is available from the Mac App store.
"I love the new interface," Ivers told Apple. "The Magnetic Timeline is a huge advancement which lets me focus on editing instead of worrying about sync. Editors just want to make great cuts and Final Cut Pro X makes that easy."
Ivers, an online editor with Trailer Park Post Production, who works across TV Promos, Advanced Content and Videogames divisions, as well as brand agency goodness Mfg., says Final Cut Pro X is designed for high-res workflows with fast turnarounds, which characterize most projects at Trailer Park. Apple sought Ivers out because Trailer Park's pipeline speaks to how Final Cut Pro X works on all levels, from assistants to editors and producers. Ivers communicated back and forth with Apple throughout Beta testing about product enhancements and made suggestions.
In a June 22 interview with Variety, Ivers noted advantages of working in Final Cut Pro X including speed and responsiveness, the ability to preview while rendering so there's almost never lag time and to name and organize content right away so there's no delay getting to work.
